The twin who was exposed to second-hand cigarette smoke in the home as a child had a greater likelihood of developing macular degeneration later in life. He also discussed various new treatment options that were not available even 10-15 years ago that can dramatically improve vision such as the advanced femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery or more commonly referred to as bladeless cataract surgery. He also discussed new vison-correcting implant options and astigmatic correction during cataract surgery.
