What is the Cost of LASIK?

LASIK can be life changing, improving your vision and saving you money over time. Once you’ve had the procedure, you won’t need to keep buying glasses and contact lenses to see clearly day to day.

Because LASIK is an elective procedure, most patients pay for it out of pocket. Evergreen Eye Center offers several payment options to help make the procedure more affordable.

Is There One Fixed Cost for LASIK Surgery?

At Evergreen Eye Center, patients receive individualized, patient centered care from board certified professionals.

LASIK pricing varies from practice to practice depending on location and other factors. Evergreen Eye Center aims to stay competitive on price while still delivering the best possible experience.

The goal of LASIK is clearer vision without relying on glasses or the ongoing cost of contact lenses and supplies, so you can enjoy an active lifestyle without visual aids getting in the way.

What Factors Determine How Much LASIK Will Cost?

A few factors influence the price of LASIK surgery:

  • The amount of vision correction needed
  • Your surgeon’s experience and skill level
  • The technology used during the procedure

Modern, customized laser technology generally costs more than non customized options. An experienced surgeon who performs the procedure personally, rather than delegating it, also tends to cost more than a practice that hands surgery off to optometric staff.

Since LASIK is typically a once in a lifetime procedure, it’s worth prioritizing experience and quality over the lowest price you can find. Cheaper options exist at other practices, but cutting corners on your vision isn’t where most patients want to save money.

What Are My Options for Paying for the LASIK Procedure?

Evergreen Eye Center’s office staff will work with you to find the right financing option for your procedure. The practice accepts several insurance plans.

That said, many LASIK procedures aren’t covered by insurance, so it’s worth checking with your provider ahead of time.

Since LASIK is elective, there’s often an out of pocket cost involved. A few billing and financing paths are available:

  • Direct payment by cash, check, or credit card
  • Flexible Spending Accounts or Health Savings Accounts

You may also qualify for third party financing through CareCredit. Applying is up to the individual patient.

CareCredit lets you move forward with your procedure when you need it and pay off the balance in monthly installments over time, subject to credit approval.
