Insurance Follow-Up Specialist

Insurance Follow-Up Specialist is responsible for providing timely and efficient follow-up with all payer types for all unpaid claims.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required, some college preferred
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ billing and insurance follow-up experience in a healthcare setting, such as a physician’s office or surgery center

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong commitment to patient/customer experience
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and display data in appropriate format and keep accurate records
  • Excellent organizational and math skills with attention to detail
  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of medical reimbursement policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance claim procedures common to medical billing and accounts receivable operations

Patient Services Representative (PSR)

This individual is responsible for customer service, scheduling all patient appointments in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring the patient feels welcome to the practice and continues coming here to receive top quality care, and monitoring physician-scheduling templates, as necessary, to maximize efficiency.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer Service background and Contact Center Experience is required
  • Two-year minimum of experience in medical practice with knowledge of insurances preferred

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong commitment to customer service and the patient experience
  • Ability to utilize multi-line phone system
  • Ability to effectively decipher calls from patients to ensure appropriate scheduling
  • Basic computer literacy, including use of dual screens
  • Empathetic personality, giving special attention to patients’ needs and concerns

Licensed Practical Nurse

This individual is responsible for performing an extensive number of data collection functions, as delegated by the physician, to allow for proper, professional diagnosis of patients’ conditions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current Washington LPN license.
  • BLS required and ACLS desired.
  • Two years of clinical experience with an emphasis in PACU, surgery or ER required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Provides patient care under the direction of the RN.
  • Adheres to recommended traffic patterns.
  • Keeps work areas clean, tidy and stocked, free of soiled equipment and supplies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique.
  • Utilizes aseptic technique and infection control principles to establish and maintain intravenous access.
  • Collects and records pertinent patient data (vital signs, NPO status, medical history, etc.)
  • Administers medications according to policy and procedure and within scope of practice.
  • Reports abnormal or unexpected outcomes or observations to RN and/or physician.
  • Assists the RN in management of patient complications/emergencies preoperatively and postoperatively.
  • Actively participates, develops and implements activities and measures promoting quality care.

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant

This individual is responsible for performing an extensive number of data collection functions, as delegated by the physician, to allow for proper, professional diagnosis of patients’ conditions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma, some college preferred.
  • Two-years of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant.
  • Medical experience preferred, but not required.
  • Valid CPR certification.

  • Empathetic personality giving attention to patient’s needs and concerns.
